May Flowers are on the Horizon!

May Flowers are on the Horizon!

Fountain Heights Farms is excited to announce our updated farm calendar for May 2023! We have a range of events and activities planned that will appeal to everyone, from foodies to nature enthusiasts. We invite you to join us on the farm for these exciting events and experience the beauty of sustainable urban agriculture.

On May 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd, and 29th from 9-11am, we are hosting Mondays for the Culture: a BIPOC day for Gathering. This is a day for Black, Indigenous, and People of the Global Majority to come together and tend the land. We believe that this is a crucial opportunity to build community and create meaningful connections with each other and the earth. Expect to get your hands in the soil, share laughs, and build relationships.

On May 20th from noon-5pm, we will be at Better Together Black Biz Mkt located at Birmingham Historic 4th Avenue Black Business District. We are excited to be part of this event, which celebrates and supports Black-owned businesses. Come visit our booth and learn more about our farm and sustainable agriculture.

And on May 27th, we're hosting an All Volunteer Day and the Opening day of our first Farm Stand sales. From 9-11am, we'll be working together to tend the land and prepare for the opening of our farm stand. Then from 12-3pm, our farm stand will be open for business, selling fresh produce, herbs, and flowers. We believe that this is a great opportunity to promote sustainable agriculture and support local food systems.

In addition to these special events, we are offering a variety of Farm Tours throughout the month. These tours are a great way to learn about sustainable urban agriculture and connect with nature. To schedule a farm tour contact Dominique at mdv@fountainhieghtsfarms.com. We will be happy to guide you through the farm and answer any questions you may have.

We encourage all visitors to wear comfortable shoes and dress appropriately for the weather.

Remember, rainy days mean that we rest and reschedule.

All of these events are open to the public, and we encourage you to sign up using the Point app. This is a great way to stay up-to-date on all of our upcoming events and activities. You can also use the app to RSVP for events and communicate with other attendees.

At Fountain Heights Farms, we believe in sustainable urban agriculture and the importance of promoting local food systems. We are committed to providing our community with fresh, healthy produce while also creating a space for connection and growth. We invite you to join us on the farm this May and experience the beauty of sustainable urban agriculture. Sign up for events using this link: https://pointapp.org/orgs/2361.
