Land, Liberation, and Legacy
Fountain Heights Farms Cooperative (FHFC) is more than a farm—it’s a movement.
For too long, Black communities have been stripped of land, resources, and control over our food systems. In Fountain Heights, Birmingham, we’re changing that. We’re reclaiming land, growing fresh food, and building a future where our community isn’t just surviving—we’re thriving.
Our Impact

Rooted in Necessity, Growing in Strength
FHFC started with a simple need—feeding a family.
Founders Dominique and Chris planted a garden to cut grocery costs. But as neighbors stopped by, curious and in need, they saw a bigger purpose. One plot became 11 farm sites—and we’re working toward 119 to create lasting food security and jobs in our community.

What We Stand For
Education & Skill-Building
We teach people how to grow, cook, and use farming as a tool for self-sufficiency and economic opportunity.
Community power
This is a farm built by the people, for the people. Every plot we farm, every meal we provide, and every skill we teach strengthens our community’s independence.
Food Security
Through We All Eat CSA and our free farm stand, we ensure fresh food reaches those who need it most.
Land Stewardship
We reclaim abandoned lots and turn them into thriving farms that nourish the community.
