Come Grow With Fountain Heights Farms
Fountain Heights Farms Cooperative is more than a farm—we’re building a community rooted in land, liberation, and legacy.
We welcome schools, youth programs, community organizations, businesses, and other groups interested in connecting with our work. Whether you're looking for a hands-on volunteer experience, an educational visit, or a deeper community partnership, we invite you to explore the ways you can work with us.
Because our capacity and growing seasons vary throughout the year, all group experiences are scheduled in advance and designed around the needs of the farm, our community, and the people we serve.

Bring learning to the land.
We welcome schools, summer programs, after-school programs, homeschool groups, colleges, and youth-serving organizations interested in connecting young people with farming, food systems, land stewardship, and community.
Experiences may include farm tours, hands-on activities, agricultural education, food sovereignty, Black agricultural history, environmental stewardship, and other seasonal learning opportunities.
As part of our mission, we prioritize opportunities that increase access to land-based education for Black, Indigenous, and other youth of color, particularly youth from communities that have historically experienced barriers to land, fresh food, and agricultural education.
We recognize that schools and youth-serving organizations have different levels of resources. Cost should not prevent community-based and youth-serving groups from reaching out. Reduced-cost and sponsored opportunities may be available based on capacity.
Best for:Schools • Youth Programs • Camps • College Groups • Educational Organizations

Put your hands in the soil and contribute to the work.
Group volunteer experiences are opportunities to work alongside FHFC while supporting the real, seasonal needs of the farm.
Projects may include planting, harvesting, bed preparation, composting, site beautification, cleanup, infrastructure projects, and other farm work.
Our volunteer experiences are rooted in service, learning, and reciprocity. Groups should come prepared to participate in meaningful work—not simply observe the farm or use the experience as a backdrop for photos or promotional content.
Hosting groups also requires preparation, coordination, staff time, and farm resources. Depending on the organization and type of experience, a participation fee or organizational contribution may be requested to help sustain this work.
Best for:Community Organizations • Nonprofits • Civic Groups • Faith Communities • Employee Teams • College Organizations

Invest in more than a volunteer day.
For businesses and larger organizations interested in engaging with Fountain Heights Farms, we encourage partnerships that go beyond one-day service.
Opportunities may include sponsored volunteer experiences, employee engagement, program sponsorships, financial support, in-kind contributions, skilled professional support, and other partnerships that directly strengthen our work in Fountain Heights.
Corporate and well-resourced institutional groups should expect to make a financial contribution that reflects the staff time, preparation, community resources, and learning involved in hosting their group.
We welcome organizations committed to approaching our community with respect, reciprocity, and an understanding that meaningful partnership requires investment—not only in the experience of your team, but in the community and work that make that experience possible.
Best for:Businesses • Corporate Teams • Foundations • Large Nonprofits • Civic Organizations

Build something with us.
Have an idea that doesn't fit neatly into one of the options above?
We're open to conversations with community-rooted organizations, educators, growers, artists, food advocates, health and wellness practitioners, and others whose work aligns with our mission.
Partnership can take many forms. That might mean sharing resources, contributing skills or materials, supporting programming, building something together, or developing a longer-term relationship.
Tell us what you're imagining, how you see our work connecting, and what reciprocity could look like in the relationship.
Supporting the Work
Reciprocity helps keep this work growing.
Welcoming groups onto the farm takes more than the hours spent together. It requires staff time, planning, materials, farm preparation, coordination, and follow-up—all while continuing the day-to-day work of growing food and caring for the land.
For that reason, some group experiences include a participation fee or requested organizational contribution.
We also know that organizations come to us with different levels of resources.
Schools, youth programs, grassroots organizations, and community-based groups should not assume that cost is a barrier to working with us. Reduced-cost and sponsored opportunities may be available based on our capacity and available funding.
Businesses, corporations, and well-resourced institutions should expect to contribute financially to the experience.
We also welcome other forms of reciprocity—including materials, supplies, professional skills, sponsorship, and opportunities for longer-term partnership.
Specific contribution expectations are shared during the inquiry process based on the organization, group size, and type of engagement.
Before You Reach Out
Fountain Heights Farms Cooperative exists within a specific place, history, and community.
For generations, Black communities have experienced displacement from land, exclusion from agricultural resources, and limited control over our food systems. Our work in Fountain Heights is part of changing that story.
We ask groups who engage with FHFC to come with respect for the land, the neighborhood, the work already happening here, and the people who make that work possible.
Working with FHFC is an invitation to participate in that work through service, learning, reciprocity, and relationship.
